Weeble Wobbles were great. I remember punching the hell out of them trying to figure out how much force it would take to knock down the relentless stout punching bag. Fast forward to adulthood and having a Weeble Wobble might look silly now, unless you modernize it. That’s what designer Jin-Sook Kim did and he added a little twist. Punch this bag hard enough and the energy turns on a LED light.

Waterfall LED lights curtain

Everybody loves a home with big windows that let tons of light inside. But why should we be limited to daylight hours to enjoy some soft lighting from our window panes? The elegantly beautiful Waterfall Curtain uses LEDs to turn night to day.

“Waterfall” is an LED lighting concept from Switzerland-based designer Barbara Bona that aims to light a dark room from the windows at any hour of the day. A curtain rod covered in tiny LEDs bounces off the reflective, translucent fabric of the curtain and into the surrounding space. And, yeah it does look like a waterfall when you look at it. Waterfall is a lights curtain that transforms night into day. With low energy consuming led lights, this product makes sure the sun is always shining.

LAPP-pro: Colorful Images by LED light and Slow Exposure

LAPP-pro (light art performance photography) is the name given to an ongoing project by jan wallet and jorg miedza. the German duo create these colorful images by taking a slow exposure photograph of various light sources such as LED light and strobe lights. each piece is the result of a rehearsed performance – none of them are enhanced using additional software.

Colored Cup LED Light

Who would have thought a cup? a bit of an optical illusion, when the LED light is in ‘off’ mode, it appears to be absolutely nothing. when turned on, the LED light casts three-dimensional colored shadows onto the wall. a simple colored cup is used to create the effect

Designer martin neuhaus has designed ‘becherlicht’ a cup LED light which functions as a wall luminaire. the light throws three-dimensional colored shadows onto the wall. neuhaus always wanted the old classic lampshade to have an ‘aha!’ factor.
