Langarita-Navarro Architect’s rather splendid Led wall at the Medialab-Prado in central Madrid is a beautiful interactive facade that aims to be a space for exchange and communication with both visitors and locals, a brave commission by the Madrid Town Council to develop social interaction and to offer a new digital landmark for their city which is often so closely guarded from development. 144m2 of wall space is covered with some 35,000 Led nodes that are configured to allow both still and moving imagery, allowing the wall, with it’s simple traditional madrileno definition to come alive with some beautifully psychedelic imagery.

The LED panels dot matrix digital work – Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror (Jason Bruges) was commissioned by the V&A in partnership with SAP for the Decode exhibition.

The white dot matrix digital LED panels seem to float on the pond, awakening as visitors come into view. Cameras mounted within the LED dot matrices capture activity in the garden and simultaneously reflect this back to the viewer; the animated images are then mirrored once again in the surface of the water, creating multiple reflections.

Mirror, Mirror explores the concept of narcissism and the individual’s relationship with space and others. The playful nature of the work encourages you to explore the interactivity and consider the interconnected relationships.

LED Galaxy Dress: The World’s Largest Wearable LED Display

Is the next big trend in fashion going to be geek chic? We recently saw computer-generated jewelry from Nervous System and data-driven jewelry from Plot Shop. Now Cute Circuit has introduced the LED Galaxy Dress–a blindingly bright piece of clothing that’s decked out with 24,000 full-color LEDs.

LEDs have certainly developed into a fashion accessory, and if you trust me, they are here to stay that way, providing the much needed sustainable support to the fashion world. If you were in a thought just otherwise, then take a look at this Galaxy Dress created with 24,000 LEDs by Cute Circuit, doesn’t this just sum up the glorification?

Striking as it can get, the Galaxy Dress is embedded with 24,000 LEDs that each measures only 2×2mm. If that’s just not much for the wordless glitter, the dress also carries 4,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals in it composition. Drawing power for tiny iPod batteries which can keep the Dress glowing for an hour, a prototype of the Galaxy Dress is on exhibition at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. A 3-D LED Display Pendant Lights

This is NOVA, a 3D LED display, developed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich to celebrate their 150th anniversary. This amazing lighting is the 3D LED Display. It builds with 25,000 lightballs, each lightball containing 12 LED. It can display 16 million colors and 25 images per second.(Wow!). It developed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich for their 150th anniversary. It is 5 by 5 by 1 meter and it is 3.3 tons heavy. Impressive! So if you happen to go to Zurich, make sure you go and check it out in the train stations main hall, it will be there till September 2009.

LED Display Upgrade Cocor Luxury Store

Cocor Luxury Store in Bucharest, Romania, recently turned on an impressive Daktronics Inc. digital display system, designed and manufactured by Daktronics Inc.

Multiple LED video screens have been positioned on the facade of the Cocor Shopping Centre building. The system comprises 13 large screen Daktronics LED displays that equal a total surface of 560 square meters, making it the biggest installation of one display vendor at a single building in Europe. Two displays are installed on the front of the building, one measuring 6.6 meters high by 11.7 meters wide. The other, the largest on the building, is 23.4 meters high by 11.7 meters wide. Both of the displays incorporate full-color pixels on 23 millimeter center-to-center spacing.

On the side of the building, five two-sided LED displays with pixels on 16 millimeter spacing, measuring 5.0 meters high by 3.2 meters wide, are installed. Another display is installed on the side of the building measuring 3.6 meters high by 20.4 meters wide, with pixels on 46 millimeter spacing.
