We first featured Lightlane back in January as a concept gadget that promoted bicycle safety. It turns out that this clever design received considerable media attention that the inventors have elected to take this from concept to production.
Lightlane includes a bright red LED safety light but aside from that, the highlight of this gadget are the two diode-pumped solid state green lasers that draw a virtual bike lane around the bicyclist. In doing so, it delineates a marked boundary between cars and the biker.
Currently in a prototype state, there is no word as to how long testing will take place for but it is nice to see someone taking action on this gadget.
