Future comes with both sustainability and environmental concerns. This is because there is a rising tendency to green power sources like solar and wind power plants. However, these environmentally friendly power plants also require power transmission lines to transmit the harnessed energy from plant to our homes. For this reason, products with cables will begin to give their places to self-feeding products which produce their own energy and not depend on power sockets.

Students and visitors in MIT’s Killian Courtyard won’t be able to miss the SOFT rockers’ graceful looping shapes, it looks like an outdoor rocking lounge furniture with a strip next-gen thin film solar panel on top, soft-wood detailing below, and interior LED lighting that glows like something out of TRON. a team lead by Sheila Kennedy, MIT Professor of the Practice of Architecture, presented to the Killian Court of MIT an outstanding project of a smart solar energy charging station – Soft Rocker The solar panels feed a 6-volt battery during the day, and it’s powerful enough, to fully charge three iPhones together in about four hours. the SOFT rockers are comfy. Designers Kennedy said"I wanted to explore how new value can be created through design for rapid growth soft wood materials in the building industry, and how software and automated fabrication can be used to mass customize the form that wood can take," .
